Even if you decide not to stay here, Khao san road is a place that is worth visiting. During the day it is filled with commercial stalls and has many options of street food, terraces and massage centers. When the night falls, it changes a little and the zone gains another life. The main street becomes super busy and the Bars are everywhere. Still, there are plenty of nice spaces to have a quiet Chang or more chilled bars like Gyspsys for a Cocktail.
Nearby you can also visit the National Gallery, one of Bangkok’s most important art and culture centers. Or, if you are looking for a bit more adventure, explore the Ghost Tower, an abandoned skyscraper that has become a tourist spot for the most fearless urban explorers.
How to get to Khao San Road:
Bus: It costs approximately 50 Bath and takes about an hour. The best way to get there is to take the free transfer from the airport to the public bus area. Once there, take bus no. 566, exit at “Democracy Monument” and Khao San Road is right there;
Taxi: If you choose to go by taxi guarantees that the taximeter is used, no fixed rates are accepted. From the airport to Khao San Road the price should be around 400 bath and the trip should take about half an hour.
Airport transfer: It costs 150 Bath, takes approximately one hour and leaves you on Khao San Road. You will have to catch the AE-2 for Banglamp.
